About Heavenly Delusion

Heavenly Delusion is a manga series written by Masakazu Ishiguro in 2018 and is still currently being serialized with its 7th volume being released on March 23, 2022. Ishiguro is also responsible for creating the slice-of-life comedy, And Yet the Town Moves / Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru.

The series is about a group of children isolated from the world in a research facility. What they don’t know is that the outside world had long been destroyed due to an unprecedented disaster that claimed the lives of most of civilization, and utterly destroyed the world’s infrastructure.

Tokio, a young girl living in the facility one day receives a message asking if she wants to go outside, her friend Mimihime is able to tell fortunes and tells her that one day two people from the outside world will save her. The person in question is Maru, a boy who looks just like Tokio traveling through the ruins of the world with a girl named Kirko, looking for Heaven.

The manga series has also been released in English, and was ranked #1 in the 2019 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This manga’s amazing!) in the male reader’s category.
