The official YouTube channel for Taku Kawamura’s My Clueless First Friend manga has announced that an anime adaptation is currently in the works. The anime will feature voice actresses such as Konomi Kohara and Shizuka Ishigami and will debut next year. A teaser trailer and key art were also posted.
Shigenori Kageyama is directing the anime at St.Signpost, and Chikashi Kadekaru is designing the characters. Takafumi Hoshikawa and Shogo Yasukawa are in charge of the series scripts, and Toshio Masuda is composing the music.
My Clueless First Friend follows one lonely, gloomy fifth-grade girl, who is the target of her classmates’ relentless bullying and teasing until a new kid arrives on the scene. Friendly Takada is as clueless as he is well-meaning, but somehow he possesses the magic ability to start drawing “Grim Reaper” Nishimura out of her shell. As the elementary schoolers experience all the fun of a childhood summer together, from going to the pool to picking sunflowers to watch fireworks…an unusual friendship blossoms!

■ Akane Nishimura – CV: Konomi Kohara
She is a shy, slightly introverted-looking fifth-grade elementary school girl. Everyone in her class calls her “Reaper” and makes fun of her. She is nervous about Takada, who is a bit of a pushover without knowing that she is teased with that title.
■ Taiyō Takada – CV: Shizuka Ishigami
An honest and energetic boy who transferred to the same elementary school as Akane. He has a bit of a chuunibyou sense and wants to be friends with her, not paying much mind to what she is usually called.
