Bandai Namco Entertainment released a new trailer for Tekken 8, previewing more of the game’s story and gameplay!
We got to see footage of a bunch of returning characters including a slick new look for Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, Jack-8, King, and possibly even Jun Kazama as a returning character ever since her last appearance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
Tekken 8 is slated to come out for Xbox Series X/S , PS5, and PC via Steam
▍Tekken 8 Gameplay
Tekken 8 is a direct sequel to Tekken 7, continuing after that game’s story as Jin Kazama gets ready for the final battle against his father Kazuya Mishima to once and for all end the Mishima bloodline. The game builds on Jin’s relationship with his family, his mother Jun Kazama and finally comes to terms with his Devil gene power.
Tekken 8 builds on Tekken 7’s foundations, doubling down on the game’s slow-mo mechanic for epic moments, while also adding stage hazards on walls similar to the Dead or Alive franchise to make the wall an even more dangerous area to have your back against.
Not much is known about the new gameplay changes, but we did get to see some new moves for Jin and Kazuya, with Jin unleashing part of his Devil Gene power, and also being able to perform a fast dash-cancel after an attack to continue the pressure, and could probably also be used for combo extensions.
