A TV Anime adaptation of Nozomu Koryu’s Sweet Reincarnation light novel series was confirmed on the official Twitter account and the project’s website. The key visual, teaser trailer, main cast, and staff were revealed along with the announcement. The TV anime will start airing in July 2023.
The main character of Sweet Reincarnation is a boy named Pastry Mille Morteln, who was a genius confectioner in his previous life and is expected to become the next lord of the impoverished territory of Morteln. In this new world, Pas is still working hard to make sweets, but his territory is going through many hardships and difficulties, however, he faces these challenges with wits and his love for baking.
Ayumu Murase will play Pastry Mille Morteln, Natsumi Fujiwara will play Marcarullo Doroba, Pastry’s childhood friend whose father is a coward and deputy commander of the Morteln family’s private army.
Maaya Uchida will play the role of Luminito Aidilichpa, a tomboy girl who causes disturbances and shakes adults around with her manly personality, and Kaede Hondo will play the role of Licorice Mille Hubarek, the fourth daughter of Margrave Hubarek, who has a shy personality and is interested in Pastry’s mature behavior.
The Sweet Reincarnation TV anime is directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya, written by Mitsutaka Hirota, character design by Tomoko Miyagawa, music by Hiroshi Nakamura, and animation production by SynergySP.
The key visual shows Pastry and the children working with him, along with a variety of sweets. The teaser trailer also shows Pastry’s highly anticipated performance with content that raises expectations about what he, who was a genius confectioner in his former life, will show.

■ Pastry Mille Morteln – CV: Ayumu Murase
The eldest son of the lord of the impoverished Morteln territory, and its next lord. His nickname is Pas. In his previous life, he was a genius confectioner with a promising future, but died in an accident during a patissier’s world competition. He is reborn in another world with the memories of his previous life. After his reincarnation, he continues to work hard at baking sweets, but sometimes his gathering of ingredients causes a commotion.
■ Marcarullo Doroba – CV: Natsumi Fujiwara
His father is the deputy commander of the Morteln family’s private army, his nickname is Marc and has a slightly timid personality. He is a childhood friend of Pas’ and often gets in trouble with his father for causing a ruckus with Pastry. He is often together with his another childhood friend Lumi. Recently, he has been a little curious about her as a member of the opposite sex.
■ Luminito Aidilichpa – CV: Maaya Uchida
She is one of Pas’ childhood friends, nicknamed Lumi. She is a boyish girl who says what she thinks clearly and is also a glutton. She is known as a tomboy around everyone around her, causing disturbances with Pas and Marc, and upsetting the adults. She usually plays with Marc and has a mischievous side that enjoys playing tricks on him.
■ Licorice Mille Hubarek – CV: Kaede Hondo
She is the fourth daughter of the Hubarek family and has a twin sister. Although she has a complex about her shyness compared to her more sociable older sister, both get along very well. She meets Pas through a certain incident and is interested in his mature behavior despite being younger than her.
▍About Sweet Reincarnation
Sweet Reincarnation is a Japanese light novel series written by Nozomu Koryu and illustrated by Yasuyuki Shuri. It began as a web novel that is published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in February 2015. It was later acquired by TO Books, who have published twenty-one volumes in print since October 2015.
A manga adaptation, written by Midori Tomizawa and illustrated by Seriko Iida, has been serialized in the Nico Nico Seiga-based Comic Corona manga service since December 2017.
The story centers on 9-year-old pastry chef Pastry Mille Morteln, who is both his father’s heir and the reincarnation of an unfulfilled pastry chef. While he dreams of a land full of sweets, there’s a lot to do first! From learning how to fight to mastering his new magical talents and doing everything he can to defend his village from bandits, however, all he really wants to do is bake the perfect apple pie… Pastry has a lot of work ahead of him.
