It has been announced that a new series of the TV anime series Pokemon will be aired in April 2023. The story centering on Ash Ketchum and Pikachu, which has been running since April 1997, will reach its final chapter!
From January 13, 2023, Mezase Pokémon Master, the final chapter in the story of Ash and Pikachu, will be broadcast. The 11 episodes will depict the adventures of the two as they pursue their dream. Misty and Brock will also appear, along with all the pokémon Ash got, and once traveled together through so many regions.
Kunihiko Yuyama will be the general director, and Daiki Tomiyasu will direct this last chapter.
The special episode The Distant Blue Sky will air on December 23, featuring a “usual special day” in the life of Ash and Pikachu, welcoming characters from the 1997 series. The episode will be directed by Yuyama, the screenplay by Shoji Yonemura, the character designs are by Sayuri Ichiishi and Shuhei Yasuda, and the music from Shinji Miyazaki.
Starting in April 2023 the new series starring Liko and Roy will premiere, featuring Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxl from the Paldea region, introduced in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet for Nintendo Switch. The special trailer also introduces the legendary Pokémon Black Rayquaza.

In April 1997, Ash and his Pikachu jumped out of Pallet Town and embarked on their journey meeting many Pokémon, and many people, making new friends, and heading on to another town — they continued on.
Fortunately, we have been able to watch over the adventure and growth of Ash and his Pikachu until today, and this is all thanks to you all, the supporting fans. We would like to express our sincere gratitude.
Starting from January 2023, “Pokémon: Mezase Pokémon Master” will begin which will give one answer to the long-standing question of what exactly is the “Pokémon Master” that Ash has been striving to become.
And from April 2023, a new series of TV anime featuring new protagonists, Liko and Roy, will start. In the new TV series, the camera will follow the adventures of the duo.
