SIGONO, the developer of the OPUS series, has announced a brand-new entry into the franchise, titled OPUS: Prims Peak. This is a spiritual successor to OPUS: Echo of Starsong, which was released on Steam back in 2021.
The developers describe the title as a narrative adventure where your choices lead to divergent endings, with a touch of style from the films of Makoto Shinkai films. No release date was announced, other than the fact the game will be coming to PC and Mac systems via Steam, with English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.
The OPUS games are a series of titles that are story-driven, often following a single character on their quest to discover what has befallen their friends, families, or entire civilizations. Currently, three games are fully released, with the fourth game announced today.
The first game is titled Opus: The Day We Found Earth, released in 2016 for mobile, PC and Switch. It is an exploration adventure game where the players have to use a space telescope to search through the cosmos, looking for Earth. By locating and scanning nearby stars, players make progress and unlock areas of the spaceship. As a new area is unlocked, they can examine items and facilities inside to explore the stories and secrets of each character. Following its success, the second game Opus: Rocket of Whispers released in 2017.
The latest title of the series is Echo of Starsong, which is a visual novel-style adventure game. Eda, a girl who can hear mysterious sound waves known as Starsong, crosses paths with a young man named Jun in search of their source. Together, they venture out to the heart of space to unravel an ancient myth.
