Osomatsu-san is known for its parody, but have you ever noticed its easter eggs?
Osomatsu-san has a number of easter eggs. One anime, which is also very famous for its parodies, has been especially made into multiple easter eggs in Osomatsu-san. Strictly speaking, Osomatsu-san kind of dedicates the entire episode 23 to this anime. The easter eggs that are related to it are very subtle, and they are hard to find as they appear on-screen for merely a few seconds. Nevertheless, there are so many that fans must have caught a glimpse here and there.
Yes, I am talking about Gintama.
These pink little guys are Justaway, and they are just bombs. They are so loved by Gintama fans because they have a cute yet suggestive appearance. Since then, they appear very often in the anime as a running gag. So often that Justaway has somehow become a mascot.

In episode 23 of Osomatsu-san, Justaway is basically everywhere.
Elizabeth is another mascot-like creature in Gintama.
∇ Gintama ep183
In episode 23 of Osomatsu-san, Elizabeth is sneaky and hides behind objects.
This eye mask is worn by everyone’s favorite police in Gintama, Okita Sougo. It also makes numerous cameo appearances and has become one of fans’ most beloved merchandises.

In episode 14 of Osomatsu-san, the same eye mask shows up unexpectedly.
Gintama is also known for its sex jokes. One is Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon. It is a powerful weapon that looks like you-know-what.

In episode 15 of Osomatsu-san, the same cannon appears as a statue.
The next one is my favourite one. It is barely noticed by Gintama fans. Kagura, often called the China girl, is usually paired up with Okita Sougo in Gintama. There is nothing romantic between them. Yet, their chemistry has made them a very popular ship in the world of anime.
∇ Gintama ep77
Okita’s voice actor is Suzumura Kenichi while Kagura’s is Rie Kugimiya. Little do people know that Suzumura Kenichi’s character in Osomatsu-san also likes a certain China girl, who is voiced by Rie Kugimiya. Kenichi’s character is called Iyami and Kugimiya’s Kagura-looking character is called Shaolin. This happens in episode 22 of Osomatsu-san. Coincidence? I think not.
The number of Gintama easter eggs has made me love this anime a little bit more. If you have more Osomatsu-san easter eggs, feel free to let me know!
