Cardfight!! Vanguard Zero (カードファイト!! ヴァンガード ZERO) is getting the spotlight at Tokyo Game Show 2018. This upcoming mobile card game is currently available for trial at Bushiroad’s booth.
Besides a trial corner, there was also a special stage event that explained Vanguard Zero’s exclusive rules even better.
The game is basically composed of three main parts: Live 2D story, simulation featuring chibi characters, and most importantly card battle.
A single deck offers players 40 cards consisting of one Grade 0 card (only for the first Vanguard), 13 Grade 1 cards, 13 Grade 2 cards, and 13 Grade 3 cards. Grade 3 cards can be used for Trigger, which is to be placed at the drop zone if drawn.
Players are able to defend themselves in three ways: Damage Shield, Intercept, Complete Guard. Damage Shield strengthen a vanguard if he is attacked. Intercept allows a vanguard to evade an attack, whist Complete Guard is activated automatically by “Protector” cards.
Detailed gameplay can be seen below.
