Touken Ranbu (刀剣乱舞) is returning to the stage with a brand new musical on August 2019. Main visuals, performance schedule, and details are also released.
This is the 6th musical of the original series, which follows a brand new story and new casts. The main visual showcases six Touken Danshi (刀剣男士), including Akashi Kuniyuki (明石国行), Sengo Muramasa(千子村正), Tonbokiri(蜻蛉切), Tsurumaru Kuninaga(鶴丸国永), Otegine (御手杵) and Kotegiri Gou (篭手切江).
Expectation flies high as the musical series is renowned for its spirited performances, gorgeously detailed costumes, and high-quality production. The new musical will run from August to October in Tokyo, Osaka, Hyōgo, and Fukuoka.
The musical series first began in the fall of 2015, and have also been performed overseas to great acclaim, including Shanghai in Jan. 2017, New Delhi in February at India Gaming Show, and Paris in July at Japan Expo 2017.

▍About Touken Ranbu
The musical is based on the massively popular PC browser smartphone game Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- by DMM GAMES and Nitroplus. The story is centered around “Touken Danshi,” famous Japanese swords that turned into soldiers.
Since its release in 2015, more than two million users have registered, and it has been adapted into everything from anime, stage plays, and live action movies.
