Based on Sui Ishida’s (石田スイ) Tokyo Ghoul (東京喰種) manga, the second live-action film Tokyo Ghoul S released a special video, showcasing the film’s first 150 seconds. The film will open in Japan on 19th July.
The video highlights one of the new characters, Margaret, played by 26-year-old fashion model Maggy. As with herself in real life, Margaret is also a fashion model, and becomes the target of the sequel’s main antagonist Shu Tsukiyama (月山 習), played by Shouta Matsuda (松田 翔太).
Directed by Kazuhiko Hiramaki (平牧和彦) and Takuya Kawasaki (川崎拓也), the movie centers the conflict between Tsukiyama and the protagonist Ken Kaneki(金木 研). Tsukiyama finds interest on Kaneki and is looking for chances to make Kaneki his dinner.
Masataka Kubota (窪田正孝) reprises his role as Kaneki, while Maika Yamamoto (山本 舞香) is newly cast as the main heroine Touka Kirishima (霧嶋 董香).

▍About Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul ( 東京喰種) is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. It was serialized in Shueisha’s (集英社) Weekly Young Jump between September 2011 and September 2014, and it has been collected in fourteen tankōbon volumes.
Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, creatures that look like normal people but can only survive by eating human flesh, live amongst the human population in secrecy, hiding their true nature in order to evade pursuit from the authorities. Ghouls have powers including enhanced strength and regenerative abilities, but they also have unsatisfiable appetite on human flesh.
