Nobuyuki Fukumoto’s (福本伸行) gambling manga Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji (賭博黙示録カイジ) confirmed a third live-action film titled Kaiji Final Game (カイジ ファイナルゲーム).
The film, which will be the last chapter of the movie series, follows a completely original story by Fukumoto and will premiere on 10th January 2020.
Tatsuya Fujiwara (藤原竜也) reprises his role as Kaiji (カイジ), together with newly joined cast, including Nagisa Sekimizu (関水渚) as Kanako Kirino (桐野加奈子), Mackenyu Arata (新田真剣佑) as Minato Hirose (廣瀬 湊), Sōta Fukushi (福士蒼汰) as Kōsuke Takakura (高倉浩介) and Kōtarō Yoshida (吉田鋼太郎) as Yohishiro Kurosaki (黒崎義裕). Tōya Satō (佐藤東弥) is also returning to direct the new film.
▍About the Series
Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji (賭博黙示録カイジ) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. It has been published by Kodansha (講談社) in Weekly Young Magazine since February 1996.
The story centers on Kaiji Itō, a consummate gambler and his misadventures around gambling. The series has currently been divided into six parts.
A live-action film trilogy started in 2009, with the first film Kaiji: Jinsei Gyakuten Game (カイジ 人生逆転ゲーム) released in October 2009 in Japan. It was followed by a sequel Kaiji 2: Jinsei Dakkai Game (カイジ2 人生奪回), released in November 2011.
