Based on Kou Yoneda’s (ヨネダコウ) best-selling BL manga, anime film adaptation, Twittering Birds Never Fly – The Clouds Gather (囀る鳥は羽ばたかない The clouds gather) reveals main cast in a teaser video. It is slated to premiere on February, 2020 in Japanese theatre.
Voice actors Tarusuke Shingaki (新垣樽助) and Wataru Hatano (羽多野涉) reprises their roles from the audio drama CDs as Yakuza boss Yashiro and bodyguard Chikara Doumeki, respectively.
The film is produced by GRIZZLY and directed by Kaori Makita, who has directed several episodes of Yuri!!! on Ice amd Banana Fish, while Hiroshi Seko, writer of Mob Psycho 100 II and Ajin, is penning the script. Music will be composed by piano trio band H ZETTRIO.

▍Story
The story follows masochist mob boss Yashiro and his deeply devoted bodyguard Doumeki. As Yashiro develops a growing interest on Doumeki, he finds that his subordinates intentionally not to engage physically with other people. At the same time, the members of Yashiro’s mob are scrambling to assert power in the syndicate and Yashiro becomes the prime target. The balance of the relationship between Doumeki and Yashiro starts to crumble as Yashiro’s life is put on the line.
