Live-action film Rurouni Kenshin (るろうに剣心) announces two titles and premiere date as the “final chapter” of the movie series. “Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Final” will open in Japan on 3rd July 2020, and “Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Beginning” will open on 7th August 2020. The official website also revealed a teaser visual and video for the films.

Based on Nobuhiro Watsuki’s (西脇 伸宏) shonen manga with the same name, “Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Final” will feature the “Jinchū” arc, and highlight the conflict between Kenshin and the mysterious weapons dealer Enishi. “Rurouni Kenshin Saishūshō The Beginning” will tell the story of how Kenshin got his cross-shaped scar.
Takeru Satoh (佐藤 健) is reprising his role as Himura Kenshin (緋村 剣心), together with Emi Takei (武井 咲) as Kamiya Kaoru (神谷 薫), Munetaka Aoki (青木 崇高) as Sagara Sanosuke (相楽 左之助), Yū Aoi (蒼井 優) as Megumi Takani (高荷 恵). Riku Ohnishi (大西利空) newly cast as Myōjin Yahiko (明神 弥彦). Keishi Ōtomo (大友 啓史) is returning to direct the films.
The first live-action Rurouni Kenshin film opened in 2012 in Japan, while the first two sequels opened in August and September 2014. The films collectively grossed more than US$160 million internationally.
