The live-action movie of Kenji Inoue (井上堅二) and Kimitake Yoshioka’s (吉岡公威) comedy manga “Grand Blue” (ぐらんぶる) starts streaming a 30-second teaser trailer, which showcases the classic naked scene of the series. The movie will premiere in Japan on 29th May 2020.
Ryō Ryūsei (竜星涼) stars as Iori Kitahara (北原伊織), a freshman college student who is aiming for his ideal college life, and Atsuhiro Inukai (犬飼貴丈) as Kōhei Imamura (今村 耕平), a fellow freshman who meets Iori when they both get naked.
The movie is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa (英 勉), who also directs the live-action 3D Kanojo Real Girl (3D彼女 リアルガール) and Kakegurui (狂賭之淵). Hanabusa also writes the script with All-Round Appraiser Q: The Eyes of Mona Lisa (万能鑑定士Q モナ・リザの瞳) screenwriter Manabu Uda (宇田學).
Ryūsei commented that though he got naked far more than he had expected, he was glad that he met his “naked companions” (裸の相棒). Inukai added that it was a cheerful, enjoyable set with a director, staff, and interesting co-stars. Since they shot the film in the summer, they made some irreplaceable summer memories.
