The TV anime adaptation of Negi Haruba’s (春場蔥) romantic manga, “The Quintessential Quintuplets” (五等分の花嫁) confirms a second season, titled “The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬”, and will premiere in October 2020. A new visual and teaser video is also revealed for the announcement.
▍Staff and Production
The second season will have a new director and animation studio. “How to keep a mummy” director Kaori (かおり) is directing the new season. Keiichirō Ōchi (大知 慶一郎) is returning from the first season to oversee the series scripts. Bibury Animation Studio is animating the second season, replacing Tezuka Productions.
High school student Futaro Uesugi (上杉 風太郎) is an academically gifted student that leads a difficult life — his mother has died, he has no friends, and on top of all that, his father has incurred a large amount of debt.
An opportunity presents itself when the rich Nakano family transfers to his school. Futaro is promptly hired as a highly-paid tutor. However, much to Futaro’s dismay, he discovers that his five charges — identical quintuplet sisters of varied personalities — have no interest in studying at all and abysmal grades.
Some of the quintuplets are against having Futaro, whom they view as a stranger, in their apartment, but Futaro’s diligent tenacity gradually convinces those girls to accept him and to improve their grades.
