“Shokugeki no Sōma: Gō no Sara” (食戟のソーマ 豪ノ皿), the 5th season of the “Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma” (食戟のソーマ) anime series is confirmed to resume on 3rd July 2020 starting from the first episode.
The anime premiered on 10th April 2020. Due to the effects of COVID-19, the third episode of the series, which was originally scheduled for 24th April, is postponed.

▍Synopsis
The story follows Soma Yukihira, who continues to improve his cooking skills in Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, an elite culinary school where students engage in food competitions called “shokugeki”.
In his second year, Soma is invited to participate in The BLUE, a world youth cooking championship where young chefs from all over the world gather and compete against each other. Soma not only has to compete with the best chef of his generation, but also the peers that he met in Totsuki.

Yoshitomo Yonetani (米たにヨシトモ) is returning to direct the fifth season at J.C. Staff. Shogo Yasukawa (ヤスカワショウゴ) is returning to oversee the series scripts, and Tomoyuki Shitaya (下谷 智之) is returning as character designer.
nano.RIPE will perform the opening theme song “Last Chapter,” and voice actress and singer Mai Fuchigami (渕上 舞) will perform the ending theme song “Crossing Road.”
