Marimo Ragawa’s (羅川真里茂) Tsugaru-jamisen x youth story manga “Mashiro no Oto” (ましろのおと) is confirmed to inspire a TV anime series that is set to premiere in April 2021. A teaser visual and video are revealed for the announcement.
Nobunaga Shimazaki casts the protagonist Setsu Sawamura, a 16-year-old boy, who plays shamisen on the influence of his grandfather. He later enters Umezono Academy in Tokyo and becomes a member of the Tsugaru-jamisen Lovers Club.
Hiroaki Akagi, director of “Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san,” is directing the series at Shin-Ei Animation, with Yoichi Kato handling series composition, and Jiro Mashima designing the characters. The Yoshida Brothers will supervise the tsugaru-jamisen music in the anime.
