On 25th September, during their TGS2020 “SEGA Fan Meet-U 2020” live-stream, Sega teased a new Virtua Fighter eSports project.
Sega did not reveal details on what the new project will include, but on Sega’s 60th-anniversary commemoration website, Sega teased that the Virtua fighter “will be reborn as an esports title to commemorate Sega’s 60th anniversary”. The company also revealed that further details for the project will be released in the future.

About the Series
Virtua Fighter was released in 1993 and is recognized as the world’s first 3D fighting game. the most recent title in the series, Virtua Fighter 5, was released in 2006. The series is an influential figure in the fighting game genre and in Sega’s Yakuza 6, the game was featured as an easter egg.
