During KONAMI’s Edens Zero Game and Anime live-stream today (26th September), Hiro Mashima’s Eden’s Zero series announced two new game adaptations and a TV anime adaptation which will premiere April 2021 in Japan.
▍Console Game Adaptation
The console game adaptation of the series is a 3D Action game. The game will feature a vast world where players can freely travel around Blue Garden. Shin Murato, the producer of the Edens Zero games, stated that the team will be working together with Mashima to create more than just the streets of blue Garden.
Players will be able to play as several characters from the series. The live-stream provided a closer look at Shiki Granbell in the game. Similar to the original manga series, Shiki will be able to freely manipulate gravity, allowing him to move around freely by fully utilizing different surfaces.
During combat, Shiki will be able to use his ether gear to use different skills. Different characters will have access to their signature skills as seen in the manga series.
▍Mobile Game Adataption
The mobile game adaptation will be a top-down action RPG. Players will be able to appreciate the character models and skills from a different angle in the mobile version. The mobile version will also have more equipment and costume. Players will have a more strategic element to consider when playing the game.
Contrasting the console game, the mobile version will have fewer dimensions for players to traverse. Players will mostly be moving on the ground, but specific attacks and skills will bring enemies into the air and players will be able to continue their combos in the air.
From the screenshots revealed in the live-stream, players may be able to select up to three characters per battle.
During the lives-stream Mashima also noted that he wants to add more originality to the game and revealed a series of concept designs for original costumes to be implemented to the game to show the characters in a different light.
