NetEase Games today (May 6) announced a strategic partnership with Poland-based publisher and developer 11 bit studios to bring “Frostpunk” city-building survival game to smartphones worldwide in 2021.
“Frostpunk” was initially released for PC in April 2018, but was later made available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2019, and macOS in February 2021.
In the game, players take on the role of a leader in an alternate-history late 19th century, in which they must build and maintain a city during a worldwide volcanic winter, managing resources, making choices on how to survive, and exploring the area outside their city for survivors, resources, or other useful items.
The mobile version of “Frostpunk” will reproduce the series’ signature gameplay system and will feature new play modes such as Roguelike Adventure, Law and Guild, Rare Animal Rescue Station, Character Development.
Details of the mobile game will be revealed during NetEase Games’ Annual Product Launch Event on May 20.
