Netmarble’s “Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds” mobile game has revealed its detailed gameplay on the pre-release special live stream on May 29. The 100-player PvP mode was also revealed for the first time.
“Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds” is set to launch in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan on June 10. A global release is also planned but the schedule is not yet confirmed.
▍Select Among 5 Characters
“Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds” follows the original settings of the “Ni no Kuni” series and has reconstructed the game system suited for mobile devices. Players can choose between 5 characters to start the game, and decide his/ her gender and voice.
The 5 characters available in the game are Rogue, Destroyer, Witch, Engineer, and Swordsman. You can also customize the hairstyle, hair color, and eye color of your character.
▍Epic Story
The game follows a completely original story where players play as the protagonist, who is invited to participate in the beta test of the virtual reality game “Soul Divers.” You enter the world of Ni no Kuni and when you open your eyes, you find yourself in the middle of a fierce battle.
Thanks to the help from Queen Sia and the mysterious creature Cluu, you are able to escape from danger. Afterward, the player heads to Evermore to seek aid in protecting Ni no Kuni.
▍100-Player PvP Mode
The live stream program also introduces the “Battlefield of Relics”, a PvP mode for two teams competing to occupy territories with up to 100 people joining the battles.
Points can be obtained by occupying territory and the team that reached the target point wins. If the winner is not decided within the time limit, the team with the highest score at the end will win.
Defeating the monster on the map can obtain different buffs and players can use it to defend their territory or attack others. You can also set barricades to block other players, so multiple strategies can be used.
Apart from the “Battlefield of Relics”, other multiplayer game modes include a Defense Battle for players to protect the base from monsters and Invasion Battle to attack the base of each other.
