KOEI TECMO America and developer GUST Studios officially launches Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream worldwide on February 25 for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
This latest entry in the series follows the beloved alchemist, Sophie Neuenmuller, shortly after her adventures in 2016’s Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book.
The first paid DLC will come on March 10 and it includes special costumes for Sophie, Plachta, and Ramizel. The second batch of DLC will come in April, followed by the third and fourth DLC batch in May.
Crossover items will be launched for Atelier Sophie 2, Blue Reflection: Second Light, and Bandai Namco’s Tales of Arise at the end of May.

▍Story
Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream continues the story of Sophie and Plachta’s many adventures. This is a story about one of the adventures Sophie the Alchemist had after she left her hometown of Kirchen Bell, which is centered around Sophie’s quest of searching for Plachta after they are separated in a dream world of Erde Wiege, and the new friends they meet there.
▍Alchemy System
Like the previous games, Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream builds upon the panel synthesis system where materials are placed into the panel slots to create new items.
Both aspiring and veteran alchemists can synthesize items in a way that is comfortable to them due to two different panel types – regular panels make it easier to create items, while restricted panels are complex to master but allow for items with stronger effects to be synthesized.
▍Change the Weather As You See Fit!
While each region of Erde Wiege has fixed weather, you will be able to change this with the help of special tools. Changing the weather will allow you to not only change the scenery when visiting the same area but also gain access to new, previously inaccessible places. The weather will also change what materials you can forage.
