The official twitter of the Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru anime started streaming a new teaser trailer for its upcoming movie trilogy “Toku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Setsugetsuka~”.
The theatrical anime will have three parts, with its first part “Yuki no maki” (Chapter of Snow) premiering in Japan on May 20, second part “Tsuki no maki” (Chapter of Moon) on July 8, and third part “Hana no maki” (Chapter of Flower) on September 1, 2022.
The anime project was first announced during the series’ “Hanamaru Haru Ichiban!” event in February 2021. Yamanbagiri Chougi was revealed as one of the new touken danshi joining the anime series. The movie trilogy will add 24 new swords, making it a total of 86 touken danshi make appearance in the anime series.
Nine new swords will make appearance in the movie’s part one “Yuki no maki”, including Daihannya Nagamitsu, Koryuu Kagemitsu, Tomoegata Naginata, Mouri Toushirou, Shizukagata Naginata, Nansen Ichimonji, Hakusan Yoshimitsu, Nankaitarou Chouson, and Hizen Tadahiro.
Takashi Naoya, who directed the first season of Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru, will return to direct the movie’s first part at Doga Kobo. The second part will be directed by Koshida Tomoaki, the director of the anime’s second season, while the third part will be directed by Sumie Noro, who makes her first directorial debut.

Based on the video game Touken Ranbu, the anime series follows the Touken Danshi characters in everyday situations in their more peaceful moments in the citadel.
The first season of the anime premiered in October 2016, followed by the Zoku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru. sequel series that premiered in January 2018. A compilation film titled Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Makuai Kaisōroku~ premiered in December 2017.
Saru Hashino launched a Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru manga on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app in December 2016, and ended the series in April 2019.
