DMM’s popular web game and mobile game Touken Ranbu (刀剣乱舞) will be having a new sword soon. A teaser picture of the sword has been released, revealing part of the sword’s Kamon, in other words, family emblem.
The new character seems to be Himetsuru Ichimonji (姫鶴一文字) for he appears to have light blue as one of his theme colours and the pattern on his clothes resembles the Nagao clan’s (長尾氏) family emblem.

Himetsuru Ichimonji is a Tachi made in the Kamakura Period (1184-1336). It was crafted by the Ichimonji School and owned by the famous Sengoku warrior Uesugi Kenshin from the Nagao clan. The sword seems to be blueish as a result of being dyed (likely to be unintentional) by a kind of smoked leather .
