Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed a new promotional video of Project Mellow, a dedicated AI in the Gundam Metaverse which is currently under development.
The Gundam Metaverse Project is a project to launch “colonies” that symbolize each category of Gundam-related content, such as games and Gundam plastic model kits, in the SIDE-G Metaverse space. The first colony will be launched with a test opening scheduled for the fall of 2022. The project is said to have both Japanese and English language support, but currently, information is available in Japanese only.

▍Who is Mellow?
Mellow is an AI dedicated to the Gundam Metaverse and is a completely independent character. She works part-time as an apprentice at the merchandise corner in the Gundam Metaverse, absorbing knowledge about Gundam and learning how to communicate with humans on a daily basis.
To “teach” her, three quizzes will be asked to the audience, and depending on the answers that win, her mood or personality will change. Each of the quizzes will be held on November 16, 17, and 18 respectively, and will each have a different Gundam theme to them. The themes are as follows:
November 16 – Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
November 17 – Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash, Mobile Suit Gundam F91 and Mobile Suit Victory Gundam
November 18 – Universal Century
▍How to Do the Quiz
The quiz will be like this: Customers are asked a question based on the Gundam theme of the day. Then, they must type a number that correlates to the correct answer. Please note that you can only use half-width and full-width characters, but Mellow will NOT understand you if you write the number using kanji or use an answer such as １か２ (One or two).
Once you’ve made the correct answer, that answer will count as one vote, thus teaching Mellow how to answer the questions correctly. You can watch the tutorial video from the official Twitter here.
▍Participation Prize
The “Help Mellow Together” campaign is also underway! If Mellow can answer correctly in the quiz section in the distribution, she can earn points. Gifts for all participants will be given depending on how many points she gets, meaning the more she gets it right, the better!
