After launching on open beta earlier this week, the sleep-tracking app Pokémon Sleep is now available to download on iOS and Android in the majority of countries including Japan, the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and more.

First announced way back in 2019, Pokémon Sleep can monitor your conditions when you fall asleep, how long it takes, the duration of your sleep, the time you wake up, and other data points. The app then uses cuddly Pokémon like Togepi and Pikachu to help illustrate how you slept the previous night, potentially allowing you to make changes to get a better, more restful sleep.

The more you sleep, the stronger your personal Snorlax will grow, attracting more Pokémon, some of which might even be shinies. It is also said that the type of Pokémon collected will depend on your sleeping types such as dozing, snoozing, and slumbering. For example, Pikachu can have sleep type of Droopy-Eared, Curled-Up, and Electrifying Sleep.

And in order for Pokémon Sleep to work, remember to position your mobile device beside you or by your pillow so that it can monitor your sleep. The application will also track the user’s snores, snoozing, tossing and turning, and other restlessness.

To address privacy concerns, the app only retains these recordings for 24 hours or until the user falls asleep again. This means that the recorded sounds, including farts, are not stored indefinitely in some digital storage. For those who prefer not to have their nighttime emissions recorded, the app includes an option to disable all audio recordings. This allows users to keep their sleep sounds a mystery,

If you want to make your sleeping experience more comfy, you can also try the Pokémon Go Plus+ accessory, which collects data using motion and sound while the user sleeps. It also features voice lines of Pikachu, including the chubby rodent Pokémon singing a lullaby to soothe the users.
