Today (11th April), the official website for the anime movie adaptation of Level 5’s critically acclaimed console game, Ni no Kuni, released the first official trailer for the upcoming movie.
The movie is titled Ni no Kuni and is expected to reach cinemas in Japan in Summer 2019. The anime movie adaptation will feature an original story which revolves around three friends, Yu, Haru, and Kotona. One day, in an attempt to save Kotona from an traffic accident, Yu and Haru gains the ability to travel back and forth between reality and the world of Ni no Kuni where they meet an alternate Kotona. When the life of both Kotona is put in danger, the duo must make the ultimate choice…
The movie is directed by Yoshiyuki Momose (百瀬 義行), who worked on the story board of Pom Poko and is the animation director of the original Ni no Kuni game. Renowned Composer Joe Hisaishi (久石 譲), composer of multiple iconic Studio Ghibli scores and the composer for the original game will be composing the music for the upcoming movie.
