The TV anime adaptation of Wataru Watanabe’s Yowamushi Pedal cycling manga has confirmed a 5th season that will debut in October 2022. The anime’s season 5 is titled “Yowamushi Pedal Limit Break”.
TMS Entertainment is animating the 5th season and voice actors Daiki Yamashita and Tsubasa Yonaga will reprise their roles as main character Sakamichi Onoda and his rival, Sangaku Manami, respectively.
Yowamushi Pedal centers on Onoda Sakamichi, a rather timid, anime-loving first-year student at Sohoku High School. His life changes after meeting Imaizumi Shunsuke, a renowned cyclist since middle school, and Naruko Shoukichi, who swept the Kansai cycling championship, he ended up joining the competitive cycling club.
The first season of the anime series aired from October 2013 to July 2014, followed by a second season aired from October 2014 to March 2015, a third season aired from January to June 2017, a fourth season aired from January to June 2018. The series also inspired a live-action television drama aired in August 2016 and a live-action film released on August 14, 2020.
