Bandai Namco Entertainment and diomedéa announced that the Futsal Boys!!!!! High-Five League mobile game is ending its service on July 28, after only being launched in November of last year. In-game purchases will be disabled on June 30.
It was also announced that the Futsal Boys multimedia project is getting a new original anime consisting of five episodes, each focusing on the everyday lives of the members of a different futsal team in the franchise.
Also, the cast members who play the characters in the anime will compete in a real futsal match event, which is set to begin this Fall. More details about the specific date will be revealed later.
▍Following the Shutdown of Futsal Boys!!!!! High-Five League
Up until now, the main story of Futsal Boys!!!!! High-Five League has 6 chapters. The planned Chapters 7 through 12 will be released as voiced dramas, at a later date.
Furthermore, the anime will be released as a Blu-Ray disc, and six volumes of illustrations of the 4★ cards of the mobile game were also confirmed to be released as merchandise under the project’s branding. More details will be revealed at a later date.
▍About Futsal Boys!!!!!
Futsal Boys!!!!! is a multimedia project created by Bandai Namco Filmworks, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and diomedéa.
The story is set in a world over a decade after futsal has skyrocketed in global popularity. Players follow the story of Haru Yamato, who watches the championship of the U-18 world cup and is inspired by a Japanese player named Tokinari Tennōji. He joins the Koyo Academy High School’s futsal team with the goal of becoming a player like Tennōji. There, he finds friends, and together they face their rivals.
The project also included actual futsal matches between the cast members, with the results of the matches affecting the story of the anime and game app. But sadly, the mobile game app will be discontinued on July 28. An anime television series by Diomedéa aired from January to March 2022.
