Persona 5: The Phantom X aims to faithfully recreate the experience of playing Persona 5 with a whole new cast of characters, while still keeping true to the original title by letting you visit Tokyo around Shibuya, Yongenjaya, and many more including the new town of Zoshigaya and several more locations.
You can also visit familiar places and meet some old faces, such as Chihya Mifune still manning her fortune telling stall in Shinjuku, or Tae Takemi’s clinic down on Yongenjaya.
As a student of Kiba Academy, you’ll also be taking classes and have to navigate the new school building, with new faces, and teachers. Naturally the members of your team are also students of this academy, with one familiar face being Suwa Arai sitting in front of you just like Ann does.
Your main mode of transportation will of course be Tokyo’s robust train lines, and as you explore the world you can also visit districts day and night, participating in activities like part-time jobs. You can also invite characters to your home either for social links or as mini-events
Mini-games and training activities also make a return, with Luffy hanging out next to you cheering you on and saying how good you look. The Gym, Fishing, and the homerun batting cage were featured as just a few of the activities you can run around and do.
It wouldn’t be Persona 5 without mementos and the palaces, and Persona 5 X brings them back with a new ride! This time with Luffy being your companion he’ll transform into a slick car for you to drive around Mementos, collecting items and running into shadows to fight.
The game will also feature the return of the Phantom Thieves, appearing in the form of powerful one-time abilities you can use during combat by calling upon their powers! The Phantom Thieves and your own team will have access to a slew of showtime attacks which will change the tide of battle when you’re in a pinch, or to dominate your opponents!
