Atlus’s Persona 5 Royal (ペルソナ５ ザ・ロイヤル) revealed an introduction trailer of new character Futaba Sakura (佐倉雙葉), codename Navi, together with her new persona.
The trailer starts with the scene when Futaba, voiced by Aoi Yūki (悠木 碧), meets with the other Phantom Thieves, she appears to be a bit nervous and suddenly changes to keigo (敬語) in the middle of the conversation. Suffering from social anxiety, Futaba is strongly discomfited by going outside. When the protagonist first meets her, she is a hikikomori who does not attend school and almost never leaves her room. But her relationship with the gang definitely grows better when they do summer homework together.
Although the details of Futaba’s persona is not fully revealed, it seems that she will play a greater role in combat than she did in Persona 5, as it will be possible for her to aid the Phantom Thieves in battle with the help of her brand new spaceship.
Earlier, the game also revealed an introduction video of Makoto Niijima (新島真), voiced by Rina Satou (佐藤 利奈), who is the star student and school council president at Shujin Academy.
The game will be launched on October 31 2019 in Japan and in 2020 in the west. Persona 5 Royal is a PS4 exclusive.
