Based on Kii Kanna’s (紀伊 カンナ) BL manga with the same title, BLUE LYNX upcoming anime film “L’étranger de la Plage” (海辺のエトランゼ) reveals a key visual and main cast. The film will debut in Japan’s theatres on 11th September 2020.
The main cast from the drama CD will reprise their roles. Taishi Murata (村田太志) will play as Shun Hashimoto (橋本駿), while Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (松岡禎丞) will play as Mio Chibana (知花実央).

Shun is a gay novelist who moved to Okinawa to live with his grandmother after his parents discovered his sexual orientation. While he is attracted to Mio, he is reluctant to disclose his thoughts.
■ Mio Chibana (知花実央) – CV: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (松岡禎丞)
Mio is a highschooler, who lost his parents and moved to Okinawa to live with his relatives temporarily. He falls in love with Shun who treats him like an independent individual.
▍Story
Shun Hashimoto is a gay novelist living in Okinawa, and he becomes attracted to Mio Chibana, an orphaned high school student living with his relatives after his mother’s death. Shun becomes interested in Mio; however, Mio’s reaction to his advances reminds him of the estrangement from his parents after they discovered his sexual orientation. As Shun and Mio grow closer, Mio confesses that he is moving to an orphanage on the mainland but promises to return once he is older.
▍Staff and Production
Akiyo Ohashi (大橋明代) is directing the film at Studio Hibari, and is also serving as scriptwriter and storyboarder. Kii, a former animator, is supervising the film, and is also drawing the film’s character designs. Mayumi Watanabe (渡辺真由美) serves as the chief animation director, while Takashi Hashimoto (橋本敬史) is the effects animation director.
