CD PROJEKT RED, TRIGGER, and Netflix today (26th June) announce the production of an original anime series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners”, based on the upcoming video game “Cyberpunk 2077”. The 10-episode series is set to debut in 2022 on Netflix.
The “Cyberpunk 2077” video game is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on 19th November 2020.

▍Synopsis
The anime series is set in the same universe as the video game and is about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.
▍Staff and Production
“Kill la Kill” and “Promare” movie director Hiroyuki Imaishi (今石 洋之) is directing the anime at Trigger, and “Little Witch Academia” Yoh Yoshinari is designing the characters.
