Yoshiki Tanaka’s (田中芳樹) science fiction Legend of the Galactic Heroes (銀河英雄伝説) is 35 years old this year. It has been adapted into many anime series and plays during these years. Finally, a new anime project is coming soon.
A key visual has been released with nothing explained. More details are expected to be published in the press event "星々の邂逅" on 20th September this year.
Writer Yoshiki Tanaka, voice cast Ryo Horikawa (Reinhardt von Lohengramm), Masashi Hironaka (Siegfried Kircheis) and Nozomu Sasaki (Julian Minci) will attend the event. They will present the cast, staff members and new videos for the upcoming adaption. The new voice actors for Lohengramm, Kircheis and Yang Wen-li will also be there.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes is set in thousand years later. The universe is split into two parties – Free Planet Alliance and Galactic Empire. The story centres on the battles between these parties as well as their respective politics.
The new anime will be made by Production I.G and follow the original story that happens after volume one of the novel. Japan’s and overseas online distribution will be done by DMM pictures.
